Obituary for Alfred J. Haddad

Alfred J. Haddad, 97, of Lenox, died of heart failure on January 20, 2021 at his home. He was born in North Adams, MA on February 3, 1923 to the late Joseph William Haddad and Helen (Nassif) Haddad.

The family resided in Waterbury CT. where he attended Leavenworth High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served as a Master Sergeant for 20 years in the US and Europe.

He met his wife Ursula Elizabeth Koch a German ballerina during the war and married on June 25, 1955. She predeceased on October 21, 2013.

A carpenter by trade, he was employed by General Electric as a master carpenter for 20 years.
He also built houses locally. He served as the steward to the Local Union for General Electric.

He enjoyed mowing his lawn, going to bingo, and working in the back yard.

Mr. Haddad is survived by his sons, Alfred P. Haddad and wife Halina of Carlsbad, CA, and John M. Haddad and wife Tammy of Dalton, MA; a daughter, Deborah L. Bliss and husband George of Dalton, MA; as well as his brother, William Haddad and wife Joan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a sister, Cecilia Bolus of North Adams, MA; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Two beloved sister's in-law Julia Haddad and Beverly Haddad and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers Sally Bock, Helen Shaker, Mae Shaker, Margaret DeMyer, James Haddad, Michael Haddad Sr., and Edward Haddad.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be private with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
