Obituary for Alexander Kidd "Al" Leslie

Alexander "Al" Kidd Leslie, 86, of 2 Cynthia Lane, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017,
at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 5, 1931, the son of William C. and Lily Hammell Leslie, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1949 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing his education, Al was a 1961 Dean's List Graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he earned a BBA degree in management. While at U-Mass, he was a member of the Golf Team.
He served two years with the United States Army Reserves.
Mr. Leslie was employed by General Electric Company in its Naval Ordnance Systems
Division where he worked in finance, support projects, field engineering, and as a support
Systems analyst. He retired in 1990 with 36 years service.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church.
He was a life member of Wahconah Country Club and a long-time member of the
Myrtlewood Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He was a skilled raconteur. He also enjoyed music, especially the organ and harmonica, and photography.
Mr. Leslie leaves his wife, the former Helen Connors, whom he married in 1961.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews, including Margaret Lenox of Granville, N.Y.
and Mike Zecchin.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Alexander "Al" K. Leslie will be held Saturday, March 18, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A.
Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will be at a later date in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in
Granville, New York. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church in care of
DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
