Obituary for Alexander James "Alex" Hanna
Alexander James “Alex” Hanna, 37, of Becket, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born in Pittsfield on March 7, 1981, the son of Linda M. Gero Laston and the late Francis C. Laston, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Hanna was an ASE Certified Auto Mechanic and had been employed by Firestone Corporation both in the Berkshires and in San Antonio,Texas.
Alex had a passion for repairing and driving fast cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and family everything to do with cars, as well as barbecuing, four-wheeling, and heavy metal music.
Alex leaves his mother: Linda; his brother: Daniel (and his wife Deanna) Hanna of Fort Eustis, Va.; his brother: Francis Laston (and fiancée Ali Wells) of Dalton; his sister: Jenny Laston and her son Damien Santos; his two children: Kaedance Hanna, Cameron James McCaul and Angeletta Haddock whom he raised from infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of the Life of Alexander James “Alex” Hanna will be held SATURDAY, JANUARY 19, 2019. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM, service will begin at 4:00 PM, at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 E. Main St., DALTON. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME to assist the family with final expenses.
