Obituary for Albert N. Lipoufski Sr.

Albert N. Lipoufski Sr., 73, of 176 Columbus Ave. Berkshire Town Apartments died Saturday at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox. Mr. Lipoufski was born in Coronado, CA on February 14, 1943 a son of the late Bernard and Jean Hamilton Lipoufski. He was educated in Coronado, CA schools and was a longtime Pittsfield resident. He was employed for over forty years in the maintenance department at Schweitzer-Maudit Paper Company in Lee retiring in 2005. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church. He was a longtime basketball coach at the Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club and coached baseball in the West Little League. He was an avid follower of high school baseball, basketball, the San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers. He enjoyed sports, dancing, cooking and going to the ocean. He leaves his wife, the former Anita M. Hebert of Pittsfield whom he married October 18, 1998. Two daughters; Melissa A. Baker of Gloversville, NY and Carrie J. Taylor and her husband Ernie of Gloversville, NY. Three sons; Albert N. Lipoufski Jr. of Lancaster, PA, Kenneth A. Lipoufski and his wife Laura of Pittsfield and James L. Lipoufski of Pittsfield and a step son: Kevin C. McGinnis and his wife Mary of Pittsfield. He also leaves a brother; Harry Carter of California and two sisters; Violet Doucette of Temecula, CA and Emma Faux and her husband John of Cathedral City, CA. Five grandchildren; Gionna Nourse, AJ Stanton, Richard Taylor, Derek Taylor and Kayden Lipoufski and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Albert N. Lipoufski Sr. who died April 23, 2016 will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10: 00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MJA 01201.
