Obituary for Albert W. LeMay

Albert W. LeMay, 86, former Chicopee native and longtime Pittsfield resident died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Springside of Pittsfield where he had resided for the past two years. Born in Chicopee on December 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert and Alice Proulx LeMay. He was educated in Chicopee schools and graduated from Chicopee High School. He then went on to serve his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He married his wife, the late Doris Paul LeMay on April 19, 1958. She died on June 23, 1981. Mr. LeMay was employed as a property manager for many years at Colonial Gardens in Pittsfield and at various other properties in the county. He retired in 1989. He was a communicant of the former St. Francis Church and a member of the Pittsfield American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, trains and following politics. He was also an avid World War II buff. He leaves his daughter; Marie S. Cowell and her husband Raymond of Pittsfield. A son; Dennis A. LeMay of Chula Visa, CA. A sister; Janet Druzlowski of Madison, WI. Three grandchildren; James Cowell, Shannon Cowell and David A. LeMay and his wife Jen. He also leaves his great granddaughter; Annabelle LeMay. He was predeceased by a son; the late David G. Lemay who died August 8, 2010.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service with military honors for Albert W. LeMay, 86, of Pittsfield who died September 28, 2015 will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Albert may be made to Hospice care in the Berkshires in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
