Obituary for Celeste Kordana (Wibby)

Celeste Wibby Kordana, 39, of 72 Harryel Street passed away on Monday,
July 24, 2017 at home. Born on July 22, 1978 in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of Robert and Stella Methe Wibby of Pittsfield. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1997 graduate of Taconic High School. Celeste also successfully completed the Early Childhood Education Certificate Program at Berkshire Community College. She had worked for several years at the Gladys Allen Brigham Children’s Center. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church where she also taught CCD. She was very active with the George L. Curran VFW Post Auxiliary in North Adams and a volunteer with Pregnancy Support Services of Berkshire County. Celeste loved the color pink and was an avid fan of Tweety Bird”. She also enjoyed attending celebrity star conventions and had a laugh that you would know was hers which made it easy to find her in a crowd. She married her husband, the late John J. Kordana on May 10, 2003. He passed away also on July 24, 2017. She leaves her parents; Robert and Stella Methe Wibby of Pittsfield. Her brother: Benjamin J. Wibby and his wife Alison and their children; Rhiannon, Jesse and Gwynevere of Pittsfield. Her maternal grandmother; Mary Jane Methe of Washington, MA. She also leaves her brother-in-law; James A. Kordana and his wife Kris of Pittsfield and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers; Joseph P. Wibby and Michael D. Wibby.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Celeste and John Kordana who passed away July 24, 2017 will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Hinsdale. The Wibby and Kordana families wish to extend an invitation to family and friends to a reception immediately following the burial at the Dalton American Legion on North Street. Calling hours for Celeste and John will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. Memorial donations in memory of Celeste and John may be made to the George L. Curran VFW Post Auxiliary in North Adams in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
