Linda J. Melchiori, 47, of Dalton passed away at home on Friday evening, September 15, 2017. Born on December 16, 1969 in Pittsfield, she is the daughter of Esther Gates Knappe of Pittsfield and the late Michael F. Knappe Sr. She had resided in Dalton for the past twenty years and had also resided in Hinsdale and Pittsfield. She was educated in Pittsfield and Dalton schools and was a 1989 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. Linda was employed for eleven years as a senior claims administrator for the former Berkshire Life Insurance Company. She had also worked at one time at the former Bonanza Steakhouse and as the store manager at Fashion Bug. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. She enjoyed helping others and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Besides her mother of Pittsfield, she leaves her husband, Craig A. Melchiori of Dalton whom she married on August 22, 1992. Two daughters; Danielle L. Melchiori of Pittsfield and Elizabeth A. Melchiori of Dalton. A brother; Michael F. Knappe Jr. of Pittsfield and her niece; Kendra L. Richards of Dalton. She was predeceased by a sister; the late Michelle Knappe.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Linda J. Melchiori, 47, of Dalton who passed away September 15, 2017 will be held Wednesday at 6 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. Burial will take place in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton at a later date. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM prior to the service at the funeral home in Pittsfield.
